Discover Town（https://discover.town/。以下「当サイト」）の運営者（以下「運営者」）は、当サイトで取り扱う個人情報について、個人情報の保護に関する法律その他の法令を守り、このプライバシーポリシーのとおり取り扱います。

1. 取得する情報

入力していただく情報

  • お問い合わせ: お問い合わせの種別、お名前、メールアドレス、件名、お問い合わせの内容
  • 会員登録とマイページ: ユーザー名、お名前、メールアドレス、パスワード、ニックネーム、アイコン、SNS などのリンク（入力した場合）、プロフィールを公開するかどうか、お気に入りに登録した店舗・施設
  • 店舗・施設の推薦: 店舗・施設の名前、カテゴリー、特徴、紹介文、推薦理由、所在地、電話番号、写真
  • オーナー（店舗・施設の関係者）の申請: お名前、メールアドレス、パスワード、店舗・施設との関係、連絡先の電話番号、確認用の URL、申請のメッセージ、申請する店舗・施設の情報
  • 写真の投稿: 写真、説明文
  • 口コミ: 評価、本文、お名前、メールアドレス、ひとりあたりの予算（任意）

自動で取得する情報

  • IP アドレス、ブラウザや端末の情報、見たページ、アクセスした日時（サーバーのアクセス記録など）
  • 口コミを投稿したときの IP アドレスとブラウザの情報
  • 口コミへのリアクション（「参考になった」など）を二重に数えないための情報（ログインしていないときは、IP アドレスとブラウザの情報から作った符号）
  • フォームの連続送信を防ぐための一時的な情報
  • 「現在地から探す」を使ったときの現在地（使ったときだけ。近くの店舗・施設を探すために使い、アカウントには保存しません。検索結果のページの URL に入るため、サーバーのアクセス記録に残ることがあります）
  • Cookie など（5 をご覧ください）

当サイトからご連絡した先の情報

写真や情報の提供をお願いするためにご連絡した窓口（自治体・観光協会・店舗・施設など）の名前・連絡先と、やりとりの内容を記録します。

2. 利用目的

  • お問い合わせへの回答と、そのためのご連絡
  • 会員登録の確認、アカウントの管理、ログイン、ご本人の確認
  • 推薦・写真・口コミの確認と掲載、オーナー申請の確認、そのためのご連絡
  • 確認の結果などのお知らせ（メール）
  • 掲載する文章の英語版の作成
  • 写真や情報の提供のお願いと、そのやりとり
  • 不正な利用・スパム・迷惑な投稿の防止
  • 当サイトの運営・保守・改善と、利用状況の把握
  • 掲載内容の訂正・削除などのお申し出への対応

これ以外の目的で使うときは、あらかじめご本人の同意をいただきます。

3. 当サイトで公開される情報

  • 口コミ: 投稿のときに入力したお名前、評価、本文、投稿日を公開します。ひとりあたりの予算は、集まった答えをまとめた目安だけを表示します。メールアドレスは公開しません。
  • 推薦: 推薦した店舗・施設が掲載されると、その店舗・施設のページに、推薦した方のニックネームとアイコン、推薦理由を表示します。ニックネームは、はじめは会員登録のときのお名前です。マイページで変えられます。
  • プロフィール: マイページで公開を選んだ場合だけ、ニックネーム、アイコン、SNS などのリンク、推薦して掲載された店舗・施設の一覧を、誰でも見られるページに表示します。
  • 写真: 確認のうえ、店舗・施設のページなどに掲載します。写真には撮影した場所などの情報が含まれることがあります。気になる場合は、取り除いてから投稿してください。

4. 第三者への提供

次の場合を除き、ご本人の同意なく個人情報を第三者に提供しません。

  • 法令に基づく場合
  • 人の生命・身体・財産を守るために必要で、ご本人の同意を得るのが難しい場合
  • そのほか法令で認められている場合

当サイトの運営に必要な範囲で、個人情報の取り扱いを外部のサービスに任せることがあります（6 をご覧ください）。

5. Cookie などについて

当サイトは、次の目的で Cookie やブラウザの保存領域を使います。

  • ログインした状態を保つため
  • 一覧の表示のしかたなど、画面の設定を覚えておくため（お使いのブラウザの中だけに保存し、当サイトには送りません）
  • 6 の外部のサービスが働くため

Cookie はブラウザの設定で止められます。止めると、ログインなど一部の機能が使えなくなることがあります。

6. 外部のサービスの利用

当サイトは、次の外部のサービスを使っています。ページを開いたときや機能を使ったときに、IP アドレスやブラウザの情報などがこれらのサービスに送られます。各社での取り扱いは、各社のプライバシーポリシーに従います。

  • OpenAI: 掲載する文章の英語版を作るために使います。推薦のときに書いていただいた紹介文・推薦理由を送ることがあります（お名前・メールアドレスは送りません）。OpenAI（米国）。https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/
  • Gravatar: 口コミの横のアイコンの表示に使います。メールアドレスから作った符号が送られます。Automattic Inc.（米国）。https://automattic.com/privacy/
  • unpkg: 地図の部品（プログラム）の読み込みに使います。
  • メールの送信の仕組み: 確認の結果などのお知らせのメールを送るために使います。
  • Google（Gmail・Google スプレッドシート）: お問い合わせのメールの受信と、写真や情報の提供のお願いのやりとりの記録に使います。Google LLC（米国）。
  • レンタルサーバー: 当サイトのデータとアクセス記録の保管に使います。エックスサーバー株式会社（日本）。

外国（米国）にある事業者のサービスは、必要な範囲に限って使います。米国の個人情報の保護に関する制度は、個人情報保護委員会が公表している「外国における個人情報の保護に関する制度」の情報でご確認いただけます。上の各社は、それぞれのプライバシーポリシーに従って個人情報を安全に扱うしくみを設けています。

7. 保管と安全管理

  • 個人情報は、利用目的に必要な間だけ保管し、要らなくなったら消去します。
  • 管理画面に入れる人を運営者に限り、ログインの入り口を守る設定をしています。
  • 通信を暗号化（HTTPS）しています。
  • 外部のサービスに任せるときは、そのサービスの安全管理を確かめます。

8. 開示・訂正・利用停止・削除などのご請求

ご本人から、保有個人データの利用目的の通知、開示、訂正・追加・削除、利用の停止・消去、第三者への提供の停止、第三者提供の記録の開示のご請求があったときは、ご本人であることを確かめたうえで、法令に従って対応します。

受け付けの窓口と手順: お問い合わせフォームで、種別「アカウント・退会」を選んでご連絡ください。ご本人であることを確かめるため、ご登録のメールアドレスあてにご連絡することがあります。

手数料: 無料です。

会員の方は、マイページでニックネーム・アイコン・リンク・公開の設定を変えられます。

9. 店舗・施設の情報の掲載について

当サイトは、店舗・施設・観光地などの名前、所在地、電話番号、営業時間、公式サイト、写真、紹介文など、一般に公開されている情報を掲載しています。情報の一部は Google マップのデータや、利用者の方からの推薦をもとにしています。

掲載されている店舗・施設の方からの、掲載内容の訂正・削除のお申し出を受け付けます。お問い合わせフォームで、種別「掲載情報の修正・削除」を選んでご連絡ください。写真や権利に関することは、種別「画像・権利に関するご連絡」でお知らせください。

推薦や写真を投稿する方は、ほかの人の権利を侵さない内容を投稿してください。人が写った写真などは、必要な同意を得てから投稿してください（詳しくは利用規約）。

10. 外部のサイトへのリンク

当サイトには、店舗・施設の公式サイトや SNS など、外部のサイトへのリンクがあります。リンク先での個人情報の取り扱いは、各サイトのプライバシーポリシーをご覧ください。

11. このポリシーの変更

法令やサービスの内容が変わったときなどに、このポリシーを変えることがあります。変えたあとのポリシーは、当サイトに載せた時点から効力を持ちます。大事な変更は当サイトでお知らせします。

Privacy Policy (English)

The operator of Discover Town (https://discover.town/, the “Site”) (“we” or “us”) handles personal information on the Site in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws, as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you enter

  • Contact form: inquiry type, name, email address, subject, and message
  • Account registration and My Page: username, name, email address, password, nickname, icon, links to social media or websites (if entered), whether your profile is public, and places saved to your favorites
  • Recommending a place: the place’s name, category, features, description, reason for recommending, address, phone number, and photos
  • Owner applications (for people connected with a place): name, email address, password, relationship to the place, contact phone number, verification URL, application message, and information about the place
  • Photo submissions: photos and captions
  • Reviews: rating, review text, name, email address, and spending per person (optional)

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and date and time of access (for example, in server access logs)
  • IP address and browser information when you post a review
  • Information used to avoid counting reactions to reviews (such as “Helpful”) twice (if you are not logged in, a code generated from your IP address and browser information)
  • Temporary information used to prevent repeated form submissions
  • Your location when you search from your current location (only when you use this feature; it is used to find nearby places and is not saved to your account. Because it is included in the URL of the search results page, it may remain in server access logs)
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5)

Information about organizations we contact

When we contact organizations (such as local governments, tourism associations, and businesses) to ask for photos or information, we record their names, contact details, and our correspondence.

2. How We Use Information

  • To answer inquiries and contact you about them
  • To review registrations, manage accounts, provide login, and verify identity
  • To check and publish recommendations, photos, and reviews, to check owner applications, and to contact you about them
  • To send notices, such as the results of our checks, by email
  • To create English versions of the content we publish
  • To ask for photos or information and handle the related correspondence
  • To prevent misuse, spam, and abusive posts
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and understand how it is used
  • To handle requests to correct or remove published content

If we need to use personal information for any other purpose, we will obtain your consent in advance.

3. Information Shown on the Site

  • Reviews: the name you entered, rating, review text, and posting date are shown publicly. Spending per person is shown only as a summary of all answers. Your email address is not shown.
  • Recommendations: when a place you recommended is published, its page shows your nickname, icon, and reason for recommending. Your nickname starts as the name you entered when you registered. You can change it on My Page.
  • Profile: only if you choose to make your profile public on My Page, your nickname, icon, links, and the places you recommended that have been published are shown on a page anyone can view.
  • Photos: after we check them, photos are published on the pages of places and elsewhere on the Site. Photos may contain information such as where they were taken. If this concerns you, please remove it before submitting.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent, except:

  • when required by law;
  • when necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent; or
  • in other cases permitted by law.

We may entrust the handling of personal information to outside services to the extent necessary to operate the Site (see Section 6).

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and browser storage for the following purposes:

  • to keep you logged in;
  • to remember display settings, such as how lists are shown (stored only in your browser and not sent to us); and
  • to allow the outside services in Section 6 to work.

You can turn off cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some features such as login may not work.

6. Outside Services

The Site uses the following outside services. When you open a page or use a feature, information such as your IP address and browser information is sent to these services. Each company handles this information under its own privacy policy.

  • Google Maps (Google Maps Platform): used to show maps and to obtain information about places (such as names, addresses, and locations). Google LLC (United States). Google’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
  • Google Fonts: used to load fonts. Google LLC (United States).
  • Google Tag Manager: used to load measurement tools. Google LLC (United States). If we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), they are loaded through this service.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: used on some forms to prevent automated submissions. Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
  • OpenAI: used to create English versions of the content we publish. The description and reason for recommending that you wrote may be sent (your name and email address are not sent). OpenAI (United States). https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/
  • Gravatar: used to show icons next to reviews. A code generated from your email address is sent. Automattic Inc. (United States). https://automattic.com/privacy/
  • unpkg: used to load map components (program files).
  • Email delivery: used to send notification emails, such as the results of our checks.
  • Google (Gmail and Google Sheets): used to receive inquiry emails and to record correspondence when we ask for photos or information. Google LLC (United States).
  • Web hosting: used to store the Site’s data and access logs. XSERVER Inc. (Japan).

We use services provided by companies outside Japan (in the United States) only to the extent necessary. Information on the personal information protection system of the United States is available from the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan (“Systems for the Protection of Personal Information in Foreign Countries”). Each of the companies above has measures in place to handle personal information safely under its own privacy policy.

7. Retention and Security

  • We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and delete it when it is no longer needed.
  • Only the operator can access the Site’s admin area, and the login entrance is protected.
  • Communication with the Site is encrypted (HTTPS).
  • When we entrust information to outside services, we check how those services protect it.

8. Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, or Deletion

If you ask us to notify you of the purpose of use of, disclose, correct, add to, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to stop using or erase it, to stop providing it to third parties, or to disclose records of provision to third parties, we will respond in accordance with the law after confirming your identity.

Where and how to make a request: please use our contact form and choose the inquiry type “アカウント・退会” (Account / Withdrawal). To confirm your identity, we may contact you at your registered email address.

Fee: free of charge.

Registered users can change their nickname, icon, links, and profile visibility on My Page.

9. Information About Places

The Site publishes publicly available information about shops, facilities, sightseeing spots, and other places, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, official websites, photos, and descriptions. Some of this information is based on Google Maps data or on recommendations from users.

We accept requests from the people who run listed places to correct or remove published information. Please use our contact form and choose the inquiry type “掲載情報の修正・削除” (Correction / Removal of Listing). For matters about photos or rights, choose “画像・権利に関するご連絡” (Images / Rights).

If you submit recommendations or photos, please do not include anything that infringes the rights of others. For photos that show people, please obtain any necessary consent before submitting (see the Terms of Use for details).

10. Links to Other Sites

The Site contains links to other sites, such as the official websites and social media of places. Please see the privacy policy of each linked site for how it handles personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy, for example when laws or our services change. The changed policy takes effect when it is posted on the Site. We will announce important changes on the Site.
