Cape Toi Lighthouse

Cape Toi Lighthouse stands on the steep cliffs at the southern tip of Cape Toi in Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture. The area around the cape is home to wild Misaki horses, a nationally designated natural monument, and features abundant natural scenery. The lighthouse itself is a white tower that contrasts with the blue sky and the rough waves of the open sea, creating a distinctive landscape often visited by those driving toward Kyushu’s southern extremity.

The lighthouse is situated on elevated ground with unobstructed views, offering a wide panorama of the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can see the striking contrast between the tower’s white walls and the deep blue sea from the base looking up. On clear days, the curved horizon of the distant sea is visible.

Around the lighthouse, there are walking paths along the varied terrain of the cape where people can stroll in the fresh sea breeze. The environment allows for quiet moments spent watching the horizon, with the sky and sea changing colors over time. The area is used by visitors for both exploration and calm observation of the natural surroundings.
