Glover Garden

Glover Garden is an open-air museum located on the slopes of Minamiyamate in Nagasaki. Visitors access the garden by ascending stone-paved paths that evoke a foreign atmosphere. From the elevated site, there are expansive views of Nagasaki Harbor and the surrounding cityscape.

Within the garden, well-maintained lawns and seasonal flowers are arranged among Western-style residences that once housed former residents of the area. The buildings feature detailed decorations both on their exteriors and interiors. The unobstructed views across the harbor, including ships passing by and the hills on the opposite shore, can be seen from various points throughout the garden, where visitors often pause to enjoy the scenery.

The site is open and breezy, with seasonal plants growing throughout. Visitors explore the grounds at their own pace, taking in the combination of historic Western architecture and the changing colors and blooms of trees and flowers throughout the year.
