Honohoshi Coast

Honohoshi Coast, located in Setouchi Town, Oshima District, Kagoshima Prefecture, is distinguished by the unique sounds created by its natural surroundings. Unlike typical sandy beaches, this coastline features countless rounded stones shaped over many years by the powerful waves of the Pacific Ocean. As the waves recede, these stones rub against one another, producing distinctive rattling and rolling noises.
