Yakushima Fruit Garden

Yakushima Fruit Garden, located in the southern part of Yakushima near the Nakama settlement, offers a close-up view of tropical fruit growing on trees. The garden is set within a lush, jungle-like environment typical of the island’s warm climate. Surrounded by sunlit tropical plants, visitors can observe the vitality of local nature firsthand.

Walking through the dense trees, various tropical fruits come into view. Unlike the usual experience of seeing just the fruit itself, visitors can closely examine the branches and leaves as well. Banana trees spread their large leaves while bearing clusters of fruit. Mango and papaya trees emit their rich fragrances, and guava trees decorate the scene with colorful branches. The garden path weaves through the greenery, allowing for detailed observation of the fruits’ shapes and colors amid an exotic landscape.

After exploring the plants, the garden offers original jams and juices made from the freshly harvested tropical fruits. These products combine rich sweetness and refreshing acidity and are available for purchase within the garden.
