Shiraito Shuzo (Sake Brewery)

Nestled in the natural beauty of Itoshima City, Shiraito Sake Brewery has been crafting traditional sake since 1855. The brewery is known for its unique “Haneki Shibori” method, using a large wooden paddle to gently press sake, resulting in a smooth and refined flavor. Their flagship sake, Tanaka Rokujugo, is made from 100% Itoshima-grown Yamada Nishiki rice and is praised for its harmonious balance of rich rice umami and fresh acidity. Every February, the brewery hosts a lively “Kura-biraki” event where visitors can sample new sake releases and experience the vibrant atmosphere of this historic sake house.
