Umenokitodoro Koen Tsuri Bridge

Umenokitodoro Koen Tsuri Bridge is located in Yatsushiro City’s Izumi Town Haki, in the southeastern part of Kumamoto Prefecture. The area is surrounded by layers of mountains and deep valleys, filled with clear air and trees that change colors with the seasons. The suspension bridge stands firmly across a valley where the wind passes through the dense forested mountains, quietly nestled within this expansive natural setting.

From the walking paths maintained inside the park, the large suspension bridge suddenly comes into view, spanning the deep valley below. The height difference from the bridge’s walkway to the valley floor and the green landscape stretching on the opposite side create a striking mountain scene characteristic of the region. Visitors can observe the mountain slopes in varying shades depending on the season, from fresh green leaves in spring to red and yellow foliage in autumn. As one walks on the bridge, the solid structure supports slight movements that allow the feeling of the breeze crossing the valley to be experienced directly. The paths before and after the bridge are surrounded by trees, where sunlight filters through the leaves, providing a shaded route.

Situated along a mountain driving route through Yatsushiro, the bridge serves as a spot for stretching legs and breathing in the fresh air.
